The Golden Globe Predictions
Well with the shocking SAG nominees behind us, we can now look forward to tomorrow's Golden Globe nominees. The Golden Globes is probably the biggest celebrity party of the year, everyone who is anyone is there from film and television; they eat, get drunk, and are just merry. Did I mention that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting again, and for the next two years!?!? That alone makes me so excited. These two funny ladies will have everyone rolling with laughter. Enough talk about them though, lets discuss these awards and then I will give you my predictions.
The Golden Globes do things a little bit different when it comes to the film awards. They split up the movies and performances into drama and comedy/musical, but they too, like the SAG, include television awards. The Globes are ran by a small group of people called the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and they simply can not be ignored in terms of Oscar. They have always been the second most important Oscar precursor award, until SAG came along, and then it got knocked down to the third. Over the past few years, the Golden Globes have gotten a bad rap for people thinking their nominees were bought because of who or what they chose. They have been seen as a popularity contest and an act to get young Hollywood involved so young viewers will watch their show. In saying that though, they still nominate and award the movies that Oscar pays attention too. With all of the crap people fling at this award, its importance has not faded. All this to say, here are my predictions for the Golden Globe Awards:
