Next Stop, SAG nominations

Tomorrow we reach the point of no return. The avalanche is roaring on down the mountain, and it is about to start knocking people down. The first stop on its big roar down was with the critics, though many critics groups will still be announcing their picks throughout the rest of the month, I have covered the major ones. The critics have truly shaken up the competition by showing us the unexpected ones, the strengths of a few, and the weaknesses of many. There is division among every group, and that makes everything up in the air. The first major awards group announces their nominees tomorrow, and that is none other than The Screen Actors Guild.

The Screen Actors Guild, or SAG (said like it looks), is a very important voting body. It is a group consisting of only actors, so basically it is actors voting for actors. Its importance is based on the fact that the acting branch of The Academy is the biggest voting section when it comes to Oscars, and every actor in the acting branch of The Academy is a SAG member. So generally, with some minor mishaps here and there, the SAG award nominees and winners match pretty closely with The Oscars. The difference in their awards is that the SAG only awards acting, for film and television (I will give my predictions for TV too). The Best Picture equivalent is Best Film Ensemble and then all the other acting categories are the same, expect in TV there is no supporting category; everyone is just lumped into either of the Best Actress/Actor in TV Comedy or Drama. So in saying that, I give you my predictions for both film and television.
